The trek to the sacred lake of Gosainkund is a popular trek in Nepal. Gosainkund is a famous pilgrimage destination in Nepal. The lake is located on an altitude of 4380 meters.
During the Gosainkund Trek you enjoy spectacular views of amazing mountain scenery. The trail takes you through colorful rhododendron forests, and offers you views of glacial moraines, rock slides and a number of beautiful mountain lakes. You have the chance to visit a monastery and a cheese factory along the trails. You meet the local Sherpa and Tamang population on your way.
If you want an authentic experience: every year more than 25,000 Hindu pilgrims come to immerse themselves in the Gosainkund lake during the August festival of Janai Purnima.

You can fill in your remaining days in Nepal with a wide range of activities. Discover some days the jungle in one of the nationals parks in the South of Nepal, go enjoying the shores of Phewa lake in Pokhara or visit the cultural sites in Kathmandu Valley.
