This impressive adventure combines the variety of spectacular views on the Himalayas with some exciting meetings with locals from different ethnic groups.
The highlights of this trek are numerous: rhododendron and bamboo forests with an abundance of wildlife, majestic waterfalls over rocks, a possibility to bathe in hot springs, magnificent views of the snow-covered giant the Langtang Lirung (7,200m / 23,622ft ) and a visit of the holy lakes of Gosainkund.
ITINERARY LANGTANG - GOSAINKUND - HELAMBU
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 2: Drive with small bus to Syabrubesi (1440m/ 4,724ft).
Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m/ 8,103ft). 5-6 hours walk
Day 4: Trek to Langtang Valley (3430m/ 11,253ft). 5-6 hours walk
Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m/ 12,696ft). 4-5 hours walk
Day 6: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa: Day Tour.
After breakfast you climb to Tserko Ri (5000m/ 16,404ft), a viewpoint where you have a spectacular view of the long way Lirung, Langtang Mountains, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and the feet of the great Lirung Glacier. After lunch, take a walk in the Kyanjing Valley.
Day 7: Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m/ 8,103ft). 5-6 hours walk
Day 8: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2230m / 7,316ft). 5-6 hours walk
Day 9: Trek to Shin Gomba (3330m/ 10,925ft). 3-5 hours walk
Day 10: Trek to Gosainkunda (4460m/ 14,632ft). 5 to 6 hours walk
Day 11: Trek to Gopte (3440m/ 11,286ft) via the Laurebina mountain pass (4609m/ 15,121ft). 6 to 8 hours walk
Day 12: Trek to Malemchigaon (2560m/ 8,398ft). 6 to 7 hours walk
Day 13: Trek to Tarke Gyang (2590m/ 8,497ft). 5 to 7 hours walk
Day 14: Trek to Sermathang (2.610m/ 8,562ft). 3 to 5 hours walk
Day 15: Trek to Melamchi Puul Bazaar. 3 to 4 hours walk. Drive to Kathmandu with private transport.
Day 16: Extra day in Kathmandu
Day 17: Departure. Transfer to the airport.
This area was hit hard by the earthquake of 2015. Meanwhile, the lodges have been rebuilt.
The trails have been officially declared safe and opened again since September 2015 by the Nepalese government.

Please keep in mind that a trek in the Himalayan Mountains requires a flexible and emphatic mind. During your trek you are lacking some of the basic luxuries like electricity and hot showers. Due to weather conditions, health issues, fitness of group members or sudden natural disasters (like landslides, snow storms, earth quakes, flooding...) we may have to change your itinerary. We try to do our best to follow the outlined itinerary of your booked trek, but your safety and well-being stays our primary concern. In case the trek an amendment of your trek is necessary, it is our group leader or head guide who takes this final decision.
You can fill in your remaining days in Nepal with a wide range of activities. Discover some days the jungle in one of the nationals parks in the South of Nepal, go enjoying the shores of Phewa lake in Pokhara or visit the cultural sites in Kathmandu Valley.
