This trek is a varied walking trip in the Kathmandu Valley. You walk through rice fields and small villages while enjoying the view on the mountains.
You stay for a number of nights in or near Buddhist (nuns) monasteries, and so you get acquainted with Buddhism. In addition, you will visit some Hindu temples, as well as Bhaktapur City.
This is a great combination between walking and cultural visits.
ITINERARY KATHMANDU VALLEY CIRCUIT TREK
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 2: With private transport from Kathmandu to Dulikhel, exploring the surroundings of Dulikhel.
Day 3: Trekking to Panauti, 2 hours walking, on-site visit
Day 4: Trekking to Godavari, 6 to 7 hours walking in the woods
Day 5: Trekking to Pharphing, 5 to 6 hours walking. Visit to the Dhakshinkali Temple, one of the main temples in Nepal dedicated to the Goddess Kali.
Day 6: With the local bus to Kalanki (1 hour), 45 minutes walk to the Nanari Gomba Monastery, the Nunnery Monastery (Manang Population) where you attend lunch and the ceremonies in the afternoon. You overnight in the monastery.
Day 7: Early in the morning you can attend a ceremony. After a walk of 45 min and then by bus to Narangtang / the entrance to Shivapuri National Park gate (45min). You walk up the hill through a narrow road and enjoy beautiful views of the valley until you reach Nagi Gomba nunnery monastery.
Day 8: Day trip around the monastery. You walk in Shivapuri National Park and enjoy nature, the view, a small temple and a Buddhist monastery. You stay overnight in Nagi Gomba Guesthouse.
Day 9: 1.5 to 2 hours walk to the famous Kopan Monastery.
Day 10: 1.5 to 2 hours walk to Bouddha, where you visit the stupa of Bouddhanath.
Day 11: Today, take the local bus into Sakhu and walk 4 to 5 hours to Nagarkot.
Day 12: Walk to Changu Narayan, 3.5 to 4 hours. And then with either the local bus to or 2 hours walk to Bhaktapur
Day 13: Private transport to Kathmandu. Today is a day off or, if desired, you can book a cultural day here with a visit of, among others, the ritual Hindu Pashupatinath Temple, the Temple of Swayumbunath and Patan.
Day 14: End of the trip. Transport to the airport.
