Please keep in mind that a trek in the Himalayan Mountains requires a flexible and emphatic mind. During your trek you are lacking some of the basic luxuries like electricity and hot showers. Due to weather conditions, health issues, fitness of group members or sudden natural disasters (like landslides, snow storms, earth quakes, flooding...) we may have to change your itinerary. We try to do our best to follow the outlined itinerary of your booked trek, but your safety and well-being stays our primary concern. In case the trek an amendment of your trek is necessary, it is our group leader or head guide who takes this final decision.
This trek is perfect for those who have short time but do want to enjoy the rich Sherpa culture and views of the Mount Everest and surroundings.
This trail passes through several Sherpa villages and offers great panaromic views of the gigantic himalayas without going to extreme altitude. You get to know the rich cultural heritage of the Sherpas and get indulged in the Tibetan Buddhist religion.
Your trek starts with a spectacular mountain flight to Lukla , Nepal's busiest mountain airstrip at 2800m, which is the gateway to the Everest region.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 2: Flight and trek to Phakding ( 2640m/ 8661 ft) – 4 hours
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/ 11,286 ft) – 6 hours
Day 4: Trek to Khumjung (3790m/ 12,434 ft) via Khundu Village (3880 m/ 12,729 ft) – 4 hours
Day 5: Trek to Monjo (2880 m/ 9,448 ft) via Namche Bazaar – 5 hours
Day 6: Trek to Lukla – 5 hours
Day 7: Flight to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 8: Extra day in Kathmandu
