The Tamang Heritage Trail runs next to the border with Tibet near the famous Langtang Valley and gives you a beautiful view of the daily life of the Tamang population. The Tamang are Buddhists of Tibetan origin who cherish their centuries-old traditions.
The trail is actually made as a project to reconcile tourism with the development of local communities. You stay in community lodges, which contributes to the development of the village communities.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi (1460m/ 4,790ft) , 8 hours via Trishuli (Nuwakot)
Day 3: Trek to Gatlang (2238m/ 7,342ft) , 5 to 6h walk
Day 4: Trek to Tatopani (2380m/ 7,808ft) , 7 to 8h walk
Day 5: Trek to Thuman (2238m/ 7,342ft), 5 to 6h walk
Day 6: Trek to Timure (1762m/ 5,780ft) , 5 to 6h walk
Day 7: Trek to Briddim (2229m/ 7,312ft) , 6 to 7h walk
Day 8: Trek to Syabrubesi (1460m/ 4,790ft), 3 to 4h walk
Day 9: Transfer from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (7/8u) with private transport.
Day 10: Extra day in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure : transfer to the airport.

Please keep in mind that a trek in the Himalayan Mountains requires a flexible and emphatic mind. During your trek you are lacking some of the basic luxuries like electricity and hot showers. Due to weather conditions, health issues, fitness of group members or sudden natural disasters (like landslides, snow storms, earth quakes, flooding...) we may have to change your itinerary. We try to do our best to follow the outlined itinerary of your booked trek, but your safety and well-being stays our primary concern. In case the trek an amendment of your trek is necessary, it is our group leader or head guide who takes this final decision.
You can fill in your remaining days in Nepal with a wide range of activities. Discover some days the jungle in one of the nationals parks in the South of Nepal, go enjoying the shores of Phewa lake in Pokhara or visit the cultural sites in Kathmandu Valley.
