The former Himalayan kingdom of Mustang is an arid and starkly beautiful land. It has long been protected from mass tourism and a great reputation as the last bastion of traditional Tibetan culture. Lush lower valleys lead up to an dry alpine desert and some of the highest unchanged settlements of the world.
With the words of the 14th Dalai Lama:
` Mustang is one of the few places in the Himalayan region that has been able to retain its traditional Tibetan culture unmolested… authentic Tibetan culture now survives only in exile and a few places like Mustang, which have had long historical and cultural ties with Tibet.`

Please keep in mind that a trek in the Himalayan Mountains requires a flexible and emphatic mind. During your trek you are lacking some of the basic luxuries like electricity and hot showers. Due to weather conditions, health issues, fitness of group members or sudden natural disasters (like landslides, snow storms, earth quakes, flooding...) we may have to change your itinerary. We try to do our best to follow the outlined itinerary of your booked trek, but your safety and well-being stays our primary concern. In case an amendment of your trek is necessary, it is our group leader or head guide who takes this final decision.
You can fill in your remaining days in Nepal with a wide range of activities. Discover some days the jungle in one of the nationals parks in the South of Nepal, go enjoying the shores of Phewa lake in Pokhara or visit the cultural sites in Kathmandu Valley.
